The North feeds its way through my oils,

Nature takes over my being.

Marguerite Morin is a French-Canadian multimedia artist who aims, through her practice, to better understand the human relationship with nature. Morin was raised in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, and in her works she depicts sceneries, memories and values rooted in her North-Ontarian background.

Reminiscing Toffee & Mint

Often in her practice, Morin has explored the idea of introducing the North to the city. In "Reminiscing Toffee & Mint", Marguerite Morin, alongside Bella Laflamme and Chris Glabb, introduce their experience in the city to the North. By working together, for a second time, the artists created and currated an exhibition that explored each others nostalgia rooted in Ottawa, and presented this art exhibition to the small community of Kenogami Ontario.

Reminiscing Toffee & Mint took place September 27th-28th, 2024

Means of Abundance

As viewers entered 100 Laurier, uOttawa's fourth year students of the BFA welcomed them to the lifecycle that was their graduation exhibition. Means of Abundance showcased, masses of media and material arranged in every possible space within the 100 Laurier building. Some artists tackled the riches of human experience and sense, while others provided reason to pick apart abused fortunes. Ultimately, they hoped to leave an abundance of inspiration behind as they seize the lot of opportunities that appear in front of them.

          - Paraphrased from MOA catalog.

Means of Abundance took place from April 22nd and ended April 29th, 2024.
